Remember how I said I wasn’t really that much into the characters in “From Blood and Ash” because they felt a bit too cliché for me? It seems like JLA read my review and decided to act on it. But so that you can understand why I am so, so amazed by this book, let me start at the beginning. I will die until April, I need to know how this story ends. The only bad thing about it is how long we have to wait for the sequel. It singlehandedly saved the worst year since we started counting years. ![]() What am I saying? This is the best book I have read in my entire life. Armentrout may well have been the best book I’ve read in 2020. “A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire” by Jennifer L. With her powers evolving and even the gods themselves intervening, what decisions will she make to free herself from her dark destiny? And who can she still trust? As unrest continues to grow in Solis amongst the Descenters who support the Dark one and the people of Atlantia, Poppy does neither belong here nor there. Trying to find a way to be free of all the lies and deception, Poppy makes a deal with the devil and plays a dangerous game to save the ones she loves. Nothing she ever thought she knew seems to make sense anymore. After finding out the truth about Hawke and the Ascended, Poppy’s life has made a 180 degree turn. ![]()
